Features

33MP Partially Stacked Full-Frame Sensor

The Alpha a7 V features a 35.9 x 23.9mm Exmor RS CMOS sensor with approximately 33 effective megapixels. Its partially stacked architecture provides significantly faster sensor readout than the previous generation, supporting high-speed continuous shooting, reduced rolling-shutter effects and advanced 4K video recording.

BIONZ XR2 with Integrated AI Processing

The BIONZ XR2 processing engine integrates dedicated AI processing for improved autofocus, subject recognition, image quality and camera responsiveness. Real-time Recognition AF and Real-time Tracking help maintain accurate focus on challenging and fast-moving subjects.

Advanced AI Autofocus

The Fast Hybrid AF system offers up to 759 phase-detection autofocus points and can recognise humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and aircraft. Automatic subject recognition can identify the relevant subject type without requiring the photographer to manually switch recognition settings.

Up to 30fps Blackout-Free Shooting

The electronic shutter supports blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second with full AF and AE tracking. For conventional mechanical-shutter shooting, continuous speeds of up to 10fps are supported.

4K Video up to 120p

The Alpha a7 V records 4K UHD video at frame rates up to 120p / 100p and supports internal 10-bit 4:2:2 recording. XAVC S and XAVC HS recording formats provide flexible options for professional video production and post-production workflows.

Advanced 5-Axis Stabilisation

Integrated sensor-shift image stabilisation provides compensation of up to 7.5 stops at the centre of the image and up to 6.5 stops toward the periphery under Sony's specified CIPA 2024 test conditions, helping deliver sharper handheld stills and smoother video.

Multi-Angle Touchscreen

The 3.2-inch touchscreen monitor features approximately 2.1 million dots and a flexible multi-angle mechanism. It can tilt upward and downward, swing sideways and rotate for high-angle, low-angle, vertical and front-facing shooting.

Dual Memory Card Slots

Slot 1 accepts both CFexpress Type A and SD UHS-I/II memory cards, while Slot 2 supports SD UHS-I/II cards, providing flexible options for backup, relay recording and separation of still and video files.

High-Speed Connectivity

The camera features two USB Type-C ports. One supports SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps for high-speed file transfer and remote operation, while the second provides USB 2.0 connectivity. Both support USB Power Delivery. Full-size HDMI, microphone and headphone connections are also provided.

• This listing is for the camera body only; no lens is included.
• CFexpress Type A cards are supported in Slot 1 only.
• Maximum 30fps continuous shooting requires compatible settings and lenses.
• Maximum video frame rate and image area can vary according to recording mode and settings.
