Price Match Guarantee

At FirstShop, we work hard to keep our pricing competitive and fair. Our Price Match Guarantee is designed to give you added confidence when comparing us against other reputable South African retailers on identical, new products.

If you find an identical product advertised at a lower price by an eligible South African retailer, please let us know before placing your order. If the request meets our criteria and is approved, we may match the price.

Please note: all price match requests are reviewed individually and are granted at the sole discretion of FirstShop. Any approved price match is limited to one unit per customer only.

Eligible Price Match Requests

We will consider a price match where all of the following conditions are met:

1. South Africa only

The competitor must be registered and actively trading in South Africa.
The competitor must supply and deliver the product within South Africa.
The advertised price must be displayed in South African Rand (ZAR).

2. Identical product

The product must be the same brand, model, manufacturer part number, and SKU where applicable.
The product must match in specification, configuration, colour, and included items such as software, warranty, or services.
The product must be brand new, sealed, and supplied through official or authorised channels.

3. In stock and available

The product must be in stock and available for immediate purchase and delivery from both FirstShop and the competitor at the time of review.

4. Publicly available pricing

The lower price must be clearly advertised and available to the general public.
You must provide a valid product URL, official written quotation, or screenshot showing the competitor, product, price, and date.

5. Total cost comparison

We compare the total cost to you, including delivery charges, mandatory fees, and standard included warranty or service elements where applicable.

Exclusions

Our Price Match Guarantee does not apply to the following:

1. Non-eligible sellers and marketplaces

Third-party marketplace sellers or marketplace listings, even where they appear on a recognised retail platform.
Offers where the competitor is not the direct seller of the item.
Grey imports, parallel imports, unauthorised resellers, or products not sourced through official or authorised channels.
Classifieds, auction sites, peer-to-peer listings, group buying offers, or customer-specific contract pricing.

2. Non-standard or conditional offers

Voucher, coupon, promo code, cashback, trade-in, or loyalty-based offers.
Staff, student, corporate, dealer, project, tender, volume, or other restricted pricing.
Bundle deals, gift card offers, or promotions where the overall package or included value differs.
Refurbished, open-box, second-hand, demo, damaged, clearance, or end-of-line items.

3. Time-limited or exceptional promotions

Flash sales, limited-hour deals, while-stocks-last promotions, or atypical short-term campaign pricing.
Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and similar major promotional events where terms or trading conditions differ from normal retail pricing.
Obvious misprints, manifest errors, or pricing that is clearly incorrect.

4. Special-order or supplier-affected items

Special-order, indent, customised, configured-to-order, or non-standard items.
Products affected by supplier price changes, exchange-rate movements, landed-cost increases, allocation constraints, or availability changes outside FirstShop’s control.

5. After purchase

Unless expressly stated otherwise on our website, price matches are not applied retrospectively once an order has been completed.

6. Quantity restrictions and repeated requests

Any approved price match applies to one unit per customer only.
We may decline or limit requests for multiple units, bulk quantities, reseller purchases, project quantities, tender quantities, or repeated requests that suggest misuse or abuse of this policy.

How to Request a Price Match

Before placing your order, please send our team the following:

Your name and contact details
The FirstShop product link or SKU
The competitor name
A link or official quotation showing the lower price in ZAR
A screenshot or supporting evidence, where available

Our team will review the request and confirm whether it qualifies under this policy.

Important Notes

All requests are subject to review, verification, and approval by FirstShop.
Submission of a request, cart price, order placement, or payment does not automatically mean that a price match has been approved.
If we suspect inaccurate information, fraudulent activity, unauthorised sourcing, or non-compliance with these terms, we may decline the request.
We reserve the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw this Price Match Guarantee at any time, subject to applicable South African law.

Pricing and Availability Notice

We take reasonable care to keep our pricing accurate and up to date. However, the IT hardware market can be affected by sudden changes in supplier pricing, exchange rates, component costs, landed costs, and product availability.

For this reason, all price match requests remain subject to final review at the time of assessment. Where supplier pricing or availability has materially changed, FirstShop reserves the right to decline the request or offer an alternative where appropriate.
