At FirstShop we strive to offer competitive pricing on our products in South Africa. Our Price Match Guarantee allows you to shop with confidence, knowing you are getting a fair deal on new, authentic products from reputable South African retailers.
If you find an identical product at a lower advertised price from an eligible South African retailer, tell us before you place your order and, if it meets our criteria, we will match the price.
Eligible Price Match Requests
We will consider a price match where all of the following conditions are met:
1. South Africa only
The competitor must meet all of the following:
- Be registered and trading in South Africa.
- Supply and deliver the product within South Africa.
- Display pricing in South African Rand (ZAR).
2. Identical product
- Same brand, model, part number / SKU.
- Same specifications, configuration, colour and bundled offers (including software, warranties and services).
- Brand new, sealed product supplied via official or authorised channels.
3. In stock and available
- The item must be in stock and available for immediate purchase and delivery from both FirstShop and the competitor at the time of the request.
4. Publicly available pricing
- The lower price must be clearly advertised and available to the general public on the competitor’s website or official written quotation.
- You must provide a valid URL, official quotation or screenshot showing the price, date and competitor details.
5. Total cost comparison
- We compare the full cost to you, including delivery, mandatory fees and any standard warranty or service costs where applicable.
Exclusions
Our Price Match Guarantee does not apply to:
1. Non-eligible sellers and marketplaces
- Third-party marketplace sellers or listings (for example sellers on Takealot, Makro, Incredible, or similar platforms).
- Offers where the product is sold via another seller on the competitor’s website. We only consider price matches where the competitor is the direct seller.
- Grey imports, parallel imports, unauthorised resellers or products not sourced through official channels.
- Classifieds, auction sites, peer-to-peer platforms, group buying offers or customer-specific contract pricing.
2. Non-standard or conditional offers
- Voucher, coupon, promo code or loyalty discounts.
- Staff, student, corporate, dealer, volume or other restricted pricing.
- Bundle deals where the total package, gift cards or value-adds differ.
- Refurbished, open-box, second-hand, demo or clearance items.
3. Time-limited or extreme promotions
- Flash sales, limited hour deals or "while stocks last" promotions at atypical prices.
- Obvious misprints, manifest errors or pricing that is clearly incorrect.
- Major promotional events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday and similar where promotional terms differ from normal trading.
4. After purchase
- Unless expressly stated otherwise on our website, we do not apply price matches retrospectively after an order has been completed.
5. Quantity restrictions
- The Price Match Guarantee applies to normal consumer and business purchases in reasonable quantities.
- We may decline or limit requests for bulk, reseller, project or tender quantities, or where repeated requests indicate misuse or abuse.
How to Request a Price Match
Before placing your order, please contact our team with:
- Your name and contact details.
- The product link or SKU on FirstShop.
- The competitor name.
- A link or official quote showing the lower price in ZAR.
- A screenshot or supporting evidence if available.
Our team will review your request and confirm whether it qualifies in line with this policy.
Important Notes
- All approvals are at our reasonable discretion and subject to verification.
- If we suspect inaccurate information, fraudulent activity, unauthorised sourcing or non-compliance with these terms, we may decline the request.
- We reserve the right to amend or withdraw this Price Match Guarantee at any time, in line with applicable South African laws and regulations, including the Consumer Protection Act.
