The Shelly Presence Gen4 is an advanced mmWave smart presence sensor designed for accurate occupancy detection in homes, offices and commercial spaces. Unlike conventional PIR motion sensors, it can detect people even when they remain still, while supporting multi-person tracking, custom detection zones, ambient light sensing and Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth and Matter connectivity.

True Presence Detection

The Shelly Presence Gen4 uses 60-64GHz mmWave radar technology to detect people even when they are sitting, working, reading or sleeping without obvious movement. This makes it more suitable for occupancy-based automation than traditional motion-only PIR sensors.

Multi-Person Tracking

The sensor can identify and track up to six people simultaneously, allowing more intelligent automation in shared environments such as living rooms, offices, meeting rooms and open-plan spaces.

Up to 10 Custom Detection Zones

Up to ten configurable zones can be created within the monitored area. This enables automations to respond differently depending on where a person is located, such as activating lighting only when someone enters a particular seating, working or walkway zone.

Wide Room Coverage

When wall mounted, the Shelly Presence Gen4 provides a 140-degree horizontal field of view with coverage up to 8 x 8 metres depending on placement. Corner mounting supports coverage up to approximately 7 x 7 metres.

Built-In Ambient Light Sensor

The integrated light sensor reports ambient conditions as dark, twilight or bright, allowing lighting automations to respond not only to occupancy but also to surrounding light levels.

Multiprotocol Smart Home Integration

Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Bluetooth and Matter connectivity allow the sensor to integrate with compatible systems including Shelly Smart Control, Home Assistant, Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings.

Flexible Mounting

The sensor can be positioned using its freestanding base, adhesive mounting or screws and wall plugs. Shelly recommends an installation height of approximately 2 metres for optimal wall-mounted detection.
