The QNAP TS-h2477AXU-RP is a 24-bay rackmount NAS designed for organisations managing demanding storage, virtualisation, backup, archiving and media-production workloads. This TS-H2477AXU-RP-R7-32G configuration combines an 8-core AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 7000 series processor with 32 GB of DDR5 memory, high-speed network connectivity and the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system.

Dual 10GbE and dual 2.5GbE ports support high-throughput file sharing, while redundant power supplies help maintain service availability in business-critical environments. Two M.2 PCIe Gen 5 slots and three PCIe Gen 4 expansion slots provide room to adapt the system as storage and performance requirements develop.

High-Capacity Enterprise Storage

The 4U chassis provides 24 SATA drive bays for building a high-capacity storage environment suited to centralised file services, business backups, long-term archives, surveillance recordings and large media collections. Compatible QNAP PCIe and SAS expansion solutions can be added when further storage capacity is required.

Built-In 10GbE and 2.5GbE Connectivity

Two 10GBASE-T ports support 10GbE, 5GbE, 2.5GbE, 1GbE and 100MbE network speeds, while two additional 2.5GbE ports provide further connectivity for segmented networks or multiple workgroups. Port trunking can be configured to combine bandwidth and provide network failover, subject to the connected network equipment and configuration.

For environments requiring additional bandwidth, compatible PCIe network adapters can add further ports or optional 25GbE connectivity.

Flexible NVMe SSD Acceleration

Two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 5 x2 slots support compatible PCIe Gen 3 or later NVMe SSDs. These SSDs can be configured as high-speed storage pools or used for cache acceleration to improve responsiveness during intensive data access.

M.2 SSDs are sold separately. QNAP recommends checking its current compatibility list and heatsink requirements before installation.

ZFS-Based Data Protection

QuTS hero uses the ZFS file system to provide data-integrity and storage-management features for business environments. Supported capabilities include self-healing, high-volume snapshots, inline compression, data deduplication and WORM folders for immutable data retention.

• Self-healing: ZFS can detect and repair silent data corruption where suitable redundant data is available.
• Snapshots: Frequent snapshots provide additional recovery points for stored data.
• WORM storage: Write Once, Read Many folders help prevent retained data from being modified or deleted.
• Data reduction: Inline compression and deduplication can help improve storage efficiency where appropriate.
• Power-failure protection: ZFS Intent Log support helps protect unwritten data during an unexpected power interruption.

Expansion for Changing Workloads

Three PCIe Gen 4 slots allow the enclosure to be adapted with compatible expansion hardware. Options include additional 2.5GbE, 10GbE or 25GbE network adapters, QM2 M.2 expansion cards, storage expansion cards, Fibre Channel adapters and supported graphics cards.

The system supports GPU pass-through and can run virtual machines and containers through QNAP applications. It is also designed to work with mainstream virtualisation platforms including VMware® vSphere™, Microsoft® Hyper-V® and Citrix® XenServer™.
