The Poly APA-23 is an electronic hook switch cable designed to connect compatible Poly wireless headset systems to selected Alcatel-Lucent desk phones. It allows supported calls to be answered and ended from the headset’s call-control button, helping users manage calls while away from the telephone. Support for an optional Plantronics Online Indicator provides an additional way to display call status in compatible installations.

Remote Desk-Phone Call Control

The APA-23 transfers compatible electronic hook-switch commands between the desk phone and headset system. Users can answer an incoming call or end an active call from the controls on a supported wireless headset without returning to the telephone.

No Mechanical Handset Lifter Required

Electronic call control removes the need for a mechanical handset lifter on supported Alcatel-Lucent phones. This creates a cleaner installation with fewer moving parts around the telephone handset.

Optional Online Indicator Support

The APA-23 supports use with a compatible Plantronics Online Indicator, including the legacy 80287-01 accessory referenced in the EHS documentation. The indicator can provide a visible call-status notification to people nearby, but it is an optional accessory and is not included with the APA-23 unless specifically stated by the seller.

Designed for Selected Alcatel-Lucent Phones

Documented phone compatibility includes the Alcatel-Lucent IP Touch 4028, 4038 and 4068, Touch 4029 and 4039, and My IC 8082. The APA-23 should be purchased only after checking the exact desk-phone model and Poly headset system, as compatibility cannot be assumed across the complete Alcatel range.

Compatible Poly Headset Platforms

The original Poly compatibility guidance lists the Savi 700 Series, CS500 and CS500 XD Series, Voyager Legend CS and MDA200. These are legacy product families, so the APA-23 should not be assumed compatible with a newer Poly headset simply because it carries the Savi or Voyager name.
