The OBSBOT Tail 2 OAB-2305-CW is a professional AI-powered PTZR live production camera designed for livestreaming, broadcast, events, education, worship, sports and virtual production. Its large 1/1.5-inch 50MP CMOS sensor, 5x optical zoom, three-axis motorised gimbal and AI Tracking 2.0 combine high-quality 4K imaging with automated subject tracking and extensive professional connectivity.

50MP 1/1.5-inch CMOS Sensor

The Tail 2 features a large 1/1.5-inch CMOS sensor with 50 million effective pixels and an effective sensor resolution of 8192 x 6144. Its 2.0µm pixel size, Dual Native ISO technology and AI image processing help deliver detailed imagery across a wide range of lighting environments.

4K 60fps & Full HD 120fps Video

Professional video capture reaches up to 3840 x 2160 4K at 60fps, providing high-resolution footage with smooth motion. Full HD recording is available at up to 120fps for fast-moving subjects and workflows where higher frame rates are preferred.

12-Element Optical Lens System

A 12-element optical lens system provides an effective focal length of 4.6 - 23mm, equivalent to approximately 22 - 110mm. The variable f/1.8 - f/3.0 aperture combines wide-angle coverage with optical telephoto capability for flexible live-production framing.

5x Optical & 12x Hybrid Zoom

The Tail 2 provides true 5x optical zoom to capture distant subjects without relying entirely on digital cropping. Hybrid zoom extends the range to up to 12x for additional framing flexibility during sports, events, presentations and stage productions.

AI Tracking 2.0

OBSBOT AI Tracking 2.0 uses an integrated AI processor to automatically identify and follow subjects. Human Tracking includes features such as Only Me, Group Tracking, configurable tracking speeds and composition controls, while expanded recognition supports more than 30 animal types and over 200 different objects.

Native 4K Vertical Shooting

The camera can rotate its lens by 90 degrees to switch between landscape and portrait shooting without digitally cropping a horizontal frame. This allows creators to produce native vertical 4K content for social media, mobile livestreaming and other portrait-oriented platforms.

Auto Leveling & Three-Axis Stabilisation

An Auto Leveling System helps maintain a level horizon while OBSBOT's three-axis stabilisation system reduces unwanted movement, providing smoother footage when the camera is repositioning or following a moving subject.

All-Pixel PDAF Auto Focus

All-pixel Phase Detection Auto Focus provides fast and accurate focusing across the image sensor, helping maintain subject sharpness during movement and zoom changes. Manual Focus is also available when precise operator-controlled focusing is required.

HDR & Dual Native ISO

HDR helps retain additional detail in highlights and shadows, while Dual Native ISO helps the camera adapt to changing lighting conditions. HDR is available for supported 4K 30fps and Full HD 30fps shooting modes.

Professional HDMI & SDI Output

An HDMI 2.0 output supports video up to 4K 60fps, while the 3G-SDI interface provides Full HD video output for professional broadcast, live-event and production equipment. These interfaces allow the Tail 2 to integrate with switchers, recorders, monitors and other production hardware.

Gigabit Ethernet & PoE+

The integrated RJ45 Ethernet port provides 10/100/1000Mbps network connectivity for stable IP production workflows. PoE+ support also allows compatible network infrastructure to provide power and network connectivity through Ethernet.

Wi-Fi 6 Wireless Connectivity

Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 provides fast wireless communication for control, monitoring and supported network-production workflows. OBSBOT specifies wireless throughput of up to 1200Mbps under suitable conditions.

RS-232 Professional Camera Control

Dedicated RS-232 IN and OUT connections support VISCA, Pelco-D and Pelco-P control protocols. Compatible cameras can also be linked in a daisy-chain configuration for centralised control in larger multi-camera installations.

External Professional Audio Inputs

Separate 3.5mm MIC IN and LINE IN connectors allow compatible external microphones, wireless audio systems and mixers to feed audio directly into the camera. The inputs support TRS connections using unbalanced stereo operation.

Local Recording up to 1TB

A built-in microSD card slot supports cards up to 1TB, providing local video recording without requiring an external recorder. OBSBOT recommends a UHS Speed Grade 3 card for reliable high-bitrate recording.

5000mAh Built-in Battery

The integrated 5000mAh, 38Wh rechargeable battery provides up to approximately 343 minutes of operating time under OBSBOT laboratory conditions. The battery allows the Tail 2 to operate away from permanent power for mobile productions, events and outdoor shooting.

Integrated Tally Light

A built-in tally light provides visible production-status information, making it easier for operators and presenters to identify when the camera is active during multi-camera broadcasts and livestreams.

Flexible OBSBOT Software Control

The Tail 2 integrates with Obsbot Start, Obsbot Live, OBSBOT Center and a browser-based WebUI. These platforms provide access to PTZR movement, image settings, AI tracking, livestream configuration, multi-camera workflows and additional production controls.
