10x to 22x Variable Zoom

The Action Zoom provides continuously adjustable magnification from 10x to 22x. At the lower 10x setting, users can locate and follow subjects more easily, while increasing the magnification provides a closer view of distant wildlife, sporting action, scenery or other subjects.

A conveniently positioned zoom lever allows magnification to be adjusted while viewing, making it easy to change perspective as the subject or viewing situation changes.

Large 50 mm Objective Lenses

The 50 mm objective lenses provide strong light-gathering capability, helping produce bright views in a variety of conditions. This makes the binoculars useful for outdoor observation during the day as well as situations where available light is reduced, such as shaded areas or around dawn and dusk.

At 10x magnification, the binoculars provide a 5.0 mm exit pupil and a relative brightness value of 25.0.

Multilayer-Coated Nikon Optics

Nikon applies multilayer coatings to the optical elements to reduce unwanted reflections and improve light transmission. The result is clearer viewing with improved contrast and more natural colour reproduction across a variety of outdoor environments.

Traditional Porro Prism Design

The Action Zoom uses a classic Porro prism configuration. This optical arrangement provides a broad spacing between the objective lenses and can create a strong sense of depth, making it easier to appreciate the relative distance between subjects in the scene.

Comfortable Long Eye Relief

At the 10x setting, the Action Zoom provides 16.3 mm of eye relief. This allows the user's eye to remain a comfortable distance from the eyepiece while still providing a clear field of view and can be particularly useful for people who wear glasses.

Central Focusing Control

A large central focusing wheel allows both optical channels to be focused simultaneously. Its prominent position makes focusing straightforward while following moving subjects or changing viewing distances.

The binoculars provide a minimum focusing distance of approximately 8 m at the 10x magnification setting.

Rubber-Armoured Aluminium-Alloy Body

The binocular body is manufactured from aluminium alloy for durability and is covered with rubber armour. The rubber coating helps provide a more secure, comfortable grip and offers additional protection against minor knocks encountered during outdoor use.

68 m Field of View at 1,000 m

At 10x magnification, the binoculars provide a real angular field of view of 3.9°, equivalent to approximately 68 m at a distance of 1,000 m. This allows users to scan landscapes, follow wildlife or watch sporting activity before zooming closer for additional detail.

Tripod Compatible

For extended viewing sessions or when using the higher end of the 22x zoom range, the binoculars can be mounted to a suitable tripod using an optional Nikon TRA-2 or TRA-3 tripod adapter. A tripod can help reduce visible movement and provide a steadier image when viewing at high magnification.

The tripod and tripod adapter are optional accessories and are not included in Nikon's standard manufacturer package.
