The R.YLF0240-8 is a directional flat-panel WLAN antenna designed to focus compatible 2.4GHz wireless signals towards a specific coverage area. Its nominal 8.2dBi gain, compact weather-resistant construction and included 2m antenna cable make it suitable for targeted indoor or outdoor wireless installations.
Directional 2.4GHz Coverage
Unlike an omnidirectional antenna that distributes its signal in every horizontal direction, the YLF0240-8 concentrates coverage towards the front of the panel. This makes it suitable for directing a wireless signal along passages, across open areas or towards a defined group of compatible network devices.
8.2dBi Nominal Gain
The antenna provides a nominal gain of 8.2dBi across its supported 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz frequency range. Its 72-degree azimuth and 68-degree elevation beamwidths provide moderately focused coverage without the narrow alignment requirements of higher-gain directional antennas.
2m Connection Cable
A standard 2m RG-58/U antenna cable provides installation flexibility between the antenna and compatible wireless equipment. The manufacturer supports TNC, SMA and Type-N cable terminations, with the required connector type specified when ordering.
Flexible Wall or Pole Installation
The compact flat-panel enclosure can be mounted against a suitable wall or attached to a compatible pole using the appropriate installation hardware. Correct positioning and alignment are important because the antenna directs most of its wireless coverage towards the front of the panel.

Compatibility Considerations
This is a passive 50-ohm antenna and does not generate or repeat a wireless signal by itself. The connected access point, router or radio must support the 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz frequency range, an external antenna connection and the selected cable connector.
