The Milesight VS135-P is an AI Time-of-Flight people counting sensor designed to provide anonymous occupancy and footfall insights across retail, commercial, workplace and other smart-building environments. This PoE model combines AI-assisted ToF sensing with advanced counting and dwell analytics, multi-device stitching and Ethernet connectivity, while support for mounting heights up to 6.5 m extends its use to larger and higher-ceiling spaces.

People Counting and Space Analytics

The VS135-P supports up to four detection lines for bi-directional people counting and includes U-turn filtering to help avoid redundant counts when people wander within counting areas. Up to four regional detection areas can also be configured for regional people counting and dwell-time analysis, with each area supporting up to ten sides.

Advanced AI Functions

Beyond basic entrance and exit counting, the VS135-P supports group counting, adult and child differentiation, staff detection, occlusion detection and shopping-cart fill-level detection. Motion and dwell heat maps provide additional information about movement patterns and areas where visitors spend more time, supporting data-driven decisions in retail, workplaces and other commercial environments.

High-Ceiling and Multi-Sensor Coverage

The standard sensor configuration provides a 98° horizontal and 80° vertical ToF field of view for installations up to 3.5 m. For taller environments, the high-ceiling configuration supports mounting heights up to 6.5 m with a 60° horizontal and 45° vertical field of view. Up to eight VS135-P units can be stitched together where a single sensor cannot cover the required area.

Network Integration and Local Storage

The PoE version connects through a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface and supports protocols including HTTP/HTTPS, MQTT/MQTTS, NTP, 802.1X, SSH, LLDP and BACnet/IP, with OpenVPN support for compatible network deployments. The sensor can locally store up to one million data records and supports CSV export, providing additional resilience and flexibility when integrating people-counting information with business and building-management systems.
