Its 4.2-inch black, white and red E-Ink screen can display custom text, images and QR codes, while LoRaWAN connectivity, NFC configuration and replaceable batteries provide a practical alternative to frequently replaced paper signage.

Flexible E-Ink Digital Signage

The DS3604 uses reflective E-Ink technology to provide a paper-like display without continuous power consumption while an image remains unchanged. Its 4.2-inch panel supports black, white and red content at 400 × 300 resolution, making it suitable for displaying room information, workplace reservations, labels, notices, QR codes and other frequently updated information.

Custom Templates and Multilingual Content

Content can be customised using text, images and QR codes, allowing the display to adapt to different business requirements. Milesight provides factory-preconfigured templates for applications such as hot-desk reservations and workplace signage, while custom templates and integration interfaces provide additional flexibility. The DS3604 supports displaying up to 150 languages, subject to the supported character set.

LoRaWAN Remote Management

LoRaWAN connectivity allows displayed content and device configuration to be updated remotely through compatible gateways and network infrastructure. Multicast functionality supports bulk remote configuration, making the DS3604 practical for deployments involving multiple displays. Milesight specifies LoRaWAN transmission distances of up to 2 km in urban environments and 15 km in rural environments, although actual range depends on installation and network conditions.

Low-Power Battery Operation

The E-Ink panel retains its displayed image without consuming battery power while left idle. Three replaceable 590 mAh CR2450 lithium batteries provide around five years of operation in Class A mode with one screen refresh per day, based on Milesight laboratory conditions. Battery life varies according to operating mode, refresh frequency, temperature and deployment conditions.
