Its slim bezel creates a combined bezel-to-bezel distance of approximately 3.5 mm between adjacent panels, helping multiple screens form a more continuous visual canvas. A 500-nit IPS panel, 24/7 operating capability and LG webOS signage platform support dependable presentation of commercial content.

Slim-Bezel Video-Wall Design

The panel has 2.25 mm top and left bezels with 1.25 mm bottom and right bezels. When compatible displays are positioned together, this produces an approximately 3.5 mm bezel-to-bezel distance, reducing the visual interruption between tiled screens.

LG’s image-gap reduction algorithm adjusts objects positioned along panel boundaries during video playback. This helps content appear more continuous across the assembled video wall, although the physical panel bezels remain visible.

Clear IPS Display from Wide Angles

The 55-inch IPS panel presents content at a native Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 with typical brightness of 500 nits. Wide 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles help preserve image visibility when the video wall is viewed from different positions.

The panel supports up to 1.07 billion colours and a typical contrast ratio of 1200:1. Colour temperature can be adjusted between 3200 K and 13000 K in 100 K increments, helping installers coordinate the appearance of displayed content.

Built for Continuous Operation

The 55VL5PJ is rated for continuous 24-hour operation, seven days a week, with a typical panel life of 60,000 hours. Portrait and landscape installation are both supported, allowing the panels to accommodate different video-wall layouts and content formats.

The display has been tested to IP5X requirements for resistance to dust ingress. It is intended for indoor commercial installations within the manufacturer’s specified temperature and humidity limits.

Integrated webOS Signage Platform

The built-in System-on-Chip and LG webOS 4.1 platform allow the panel to perform content playback and signage functions without requiring a separate media player for many applications. The 8 GB of internal storage supports compatible local content and system functions.

Local content scheduling, Group Manager, USB Plug & Play, URL playback, gapless playback and input failover provide flexible options for presenting commercial media. Tile Mode supports layouts of up to 15 × 15 compatible panels.

Video-Wall Connectivity

Two HDMI inputs, DisplayPort, DVI-D and USB connections support a range of compatible media sources. DisplayPort output can be used to pass supported HDMI, DisplayPort or DVI-D input signals between compatible panels, simplifying signal distribution across a video-wall installation.

RS-232C input and output, Ethernet, IR control and network-management functions provide additional options for professional integration. The 55VL5PJ does not include built-in speakers, so a separate compatible audio system is required when sound is needed.

Centralised Monitoring and Management

The display is compatible with LG SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB and SuperSign Cloud solutions. Control Manager, SNMP, Wake-on-LAN, automatic display ID and status-mailing functions help administrators monitor and manage compatible panels.
