Up to 150MB/s Read Performance

The JumpDrive M400 uses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface and delivers read speeds of up to 150MB/s on the 256GB model. This allows compatible files to be accessed and transferred faster than with older USB flash-drive interfaces, reducing the time spent moving documents, photographs and other content.

Lexar specifies the performance figure as an up-to read speed based on internal testing. Write speeds are lower and are not given as a fixed performance figure by the manufacturer. Actual transfer performance can vary according to the host device, file type, file size, operating system and other conditions.

USB Type-A Connectivity

The drive uses a standard USB Type-A connector, making it suitable for a wide variety of desktop computers, notebooks, compatible televisions, media systems and other devices equipped with a USB-A port.

Although the current interface designation is USB 3.2 Gen 1, the JumpDrive M400 is also backward compatible with USB 2.0. Performance is reduced when the drive is connected through an older USB interface.

As with other storage products, the actual usable capacity available to the operating system is lower than the advertised 256GB because some capacity is used for formatting and system-related purposes. Lexar defines 1GB as 1 billion bytes.
