Honeywell S0703 1D and 2D Barcode Imager

The integrated Honeywell S0703 slim imager provides standard-range scanning for compatible 1D and 2D barcode symbologies. Honeywell designed the scan engine to provide fast data capture, including improved reading of damaged or incomplete barcodes that may be encountered in retail, logistics and warehouse environments.

The manufacturer's standard-range specification is up to approximately 1 m, although practical scanning distance varies according to the barcode type, size, quality, lighting and other operating conditions.

The EDA52 is designed for demanding everyday enterprise use and carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating. Honeywell specifies resistance to multiple 1.3 m drops to concrete at room temperature in accordance with MIL-STD-810G test conditions. With a compatible protective rubber boot installed, the specified drop height increases to 1.5 m.

The device is also rated to withstand 550 tumbles from a height of 0.5 m, helping it cope with repeated impacts encountered during everyday mobile working environments.
