Master Headset for Non-Hub Solidcom C1 Systems

The Solidcom C1 master headset contains the wireless transceiver required to operate a non-hub Solidcom C1 intercom system. This self-contained design removes the need for a separate beltpack or base station, helping simplify equipment setup and allowing crew members to move freely around a production environment.

The standard system configuration supports connection to as many as five compatible remote headsets. Hollyland also states that supported non-hub Solidcom C1 systems can accommodate up to eight headsets in total, including the master headset, after the appropriate firmware upgrade.

Full-Duplex Hands-Free Communication

Full-duplex operation allows connected users to speak and listen at the same time, providing a natural conversation flow compared with traditional push-to-talk radio systems. This is particularly useful for production environments where camera operators, directors, technical staff and other crew members need to exchange information quickly.

The wireless electronics, speaker, microphone, controls and battery are all integrated into the headset, eliminating the need for a separate bodypack.

Hollyland's current Solidcom C1 technical specifications list a line-of-sight wireless communication range of up to 350 m. This gives crew members freedom to move around larger film sets, event venues, stages and outdoor production locations while remaining connected to the intercom system.

Actual communication range can vary according to physical obstructions, radio-frequency interference, the operating environment and regional wireless regulations.

DECT 6.0 Wireless Technology

The Solidcom C1 uses digital DECT 6.0 technology in the 1.9 GHz frequency spectrum. Dual-antenna diversity helps improve resistance to interference and maintain a stable connection, while proprietary encryption helps protect communication between members of the intercom system.

For South Africa, Hollyland specifies an operating frequency range of 1880–1900 MHz with 10 available channels. Frequency allocations differ in other countries and regions.

Less Than 35 ms Transmission Latency

Wireless transmission latency is specified at less than 35 ms, helping conversations remain responsive and natural. Low communication delay is particularly important in live production environments where timing and coordination between crew members are critical.

Wideband Audio with Acoustic Echo Cancellation

The Solidcom C1 provides a frequency response of 150 Hz to 7 kHz and uses Acoustic Echo Cancellation to help maintain clear and intelligible voice communication. Its directional electret microphone focuses on the speaker's voice while helping reduce unwanted surrounding sound.

Unlike the newer Solidcom C1 Pro, the original Solidcom C1 does not feature Hollyland's dual-microphone Environmental Noise Cancellation system. Instead, it uses its directional microphone and Acoustic Echo Cancellation to support clear communication.

Automatic Microphone Boom Mute

The microphone boom provides quick and intuitive communication control. Moving the boom into its operating position enables the microphone, while raising it automatically mutes communication. The boom can rotate approximately 270 degrees, allowing the headset to accommodate both left-ear and right-ear wearing preferences.

Single-Ear Mono Design

The single-ear design allows the user to monitor intercom communication while keeping the opposite ear open to surrounding activity. This is useful for camera operators, stage personnel, event teams and other production crew members who need to remain aware of both intercom instructions and activity taking place around them.

Both an over-ear leather cushion and an on-ear foam cushion are supplied, allowing the user to select the wearing style that best suits the working environment.

Replaceable Rechargeable Battery

The master headset uses a removable 700 mAh, 2.66 Wh lithium-ion battery. Hollyland specifies approximately 6 hours of master-headset operation when connected to three remote headsets and approximately 5 hours when connected to five remote headsets.

Two rechargeable batteries are supplied with the standalone master headset, allowing a depleted battery to be exchanged for a charged spare. A compatible Solidcom C1 charging case is required to charge the batteries and is not included with this standalone headset.

The headset's USB-C connection is intended for firmware upgrades and should not be treated as a battery-charging port.

Lightweight Construction

The Solidcom C1 master headset weighs approximately 170 g with its battery installed. Its lightweight PC-ABS construction, adjustable headband and interchangeable ear cushions are designed to support comfortable use throughout longer filming, event and production sessions.
