The Hollyland Pyro S is a professional 4K wireless video transmitter designed for filmmaking, live production, events and multi-camera monitoring workflows. Supporting HDMI and 3G-SDI video inputs, dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless operation and transmission distances of up to 400 m line of sight, the Pyro S provides flexible, low-latency video transmission for compatible Pyro-series receivers and monitoring devices.

Long-Range Wireless Video Transmission

The Pyro S transmitter provides a line-of-sight transmission range of up to 400 m when Broadcast Mode is disabled, making it suitable for larger production environments where cameras and monitoring stations may be positioned far apart. Hollyland specifies transmission latency as low as approximately 50 ms, helping camera crews and production teams monitor footage with minimal delay.

Actual wireless range and latency can vary according to obstructions, radio-frequency interference, connected equipment, operating mode and regional wireless regulations.

One Transmitter to Multiple Receivers

Hollyland's WifiBroadcast technology allows a single Pyro S transmitter to support several monitoring points. With Broadcast Mode enabled, the transmitter can send video to as many as four compatible receivers simultaneously, making it useful for directors, camera crews, focus pullers and other production personnel who require separate video feeds.

When Broadcast Mode is enabled, the specified line-of-sight range is up to approximately 200 m. With Broadcast Mode disabled, the transmitter can support up to two compatible receivers and two mobile monitoring devices, with a maximum specified line-of-sight range of up to 400 m.

UHD 4K30 HDMI Transmission

The HDMI 1.4b input accepts video signals at resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 at 30 fps, allowing the Pyro S to work with compatible 4K cameras and professional production equipment. Supported Full HD formats include frame rates up to 1080p60, providing flexibility for a variety of shooting requirements.

HDMI and 3G-SDI Video Inputs

The transmitter provides both an HDMI 1.4b input and a professional 3G-SDI input. HDMI supports video resolutions up to UHD 4K30, while the 3G-SDI connection supports compatible signals up to 1080p60. This combination allows the Pyro S to integrate with a broad selection of mirrorless cameras, cinema cameras, camcorders and broadcast equipment.

2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Dual-Band Operation

The Pyro S operates across both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless frequency bands. Hollyland's Auto Dual-Band Hopping technology continuously evaluates the wireless environment and selects suitable channels to help maintain a stable connection when interference is present.

Smart Channel Scan

When switched on, the Pyro S can automatically select an appropriate wireless channel. Its Smart Channel Scan function also allows operators to view real-time channel conditions, helping identify cleaner frequencies in locations where multiple wireless systems are operating simultaneously.

Preset Grouping and Pairing

Preset grouping and pairing simplify setup when working with compatible Pyro-series receivers. This reduces the amount of repeated manual configuration required when building or changing a multi-monitor production setup.

USB-C Connectivity

A USB-C USB 2.0 OTG port is provided for compatible USB-based functions and workflows. Hollyland also lists UVC and RTMP support as part of the Pyro S platform, providing additional flexibility for compatible streaming and computer-based production configurations.

Multiple Power Options

The Pyro S transmitter supports compatible NP-F batteries with an operating battery voltage range of 6.8–8.4 V. It can also be powered through its DC input with a supported range of 6–16 V, allowing the transmitter to be used in both portable and fixed production setups.

Compatible batteries and external DC power accessories may be sold separately.

Lightweight Magnesium-Alloy Construction

The Pyro S uses a lightweight magnesium-aluminium alloy housing designed to balance durability, weight and heat dissipation. At approximately 207 g excluding external accessories, the transmitter can be mounted to compatible camera rigs without adding excessive weight.
