The Hollyland Pyro 5 combines a 5.5-inch field monitor, wireless video transmitter and wireless receiver in one compact production tool. Bright 5.5-Inch Full HD Touchscreen

The 1920 × 1080 touchscreen reaches a brightness of 1,500 nits, helping operators assess shots in bright outdoor environments as well as controlled studio conditions. Its Rec.709 colour gamut, 1000:1 contrast ratio and built-in image-analysis tools provide practical assistance when checking exposure, focus, framing and colour.

Flexible Wireless Monitoring

The Pyro 5 operates across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands and uses automatic frequency hopping to locate a suitable wireless channel. Smart Channel Selection also allows the operator to scan available channels and review their signal strength when configuring the system.

In Broadcast Mode, a single Pyro 5 transmitter can feed up to four compatible receivers. This helps directors, camera crews and other production personnel monitor the same camera signal without relying on additional cabling. Transmission distance and latency depend on the selected mode, connected devices, interference and operating environment.

HD and Smooth Transmission Modes

HD Mode provides a bitrate of up to 12 Mbps with a minimum latency of approximately 75 ms, making it suitable when image fidelity is the priority. Smooth Mode dynamically adjusts the bitrate to deliver latency as low as approximately 60 ms for responsive monitoring over longer distances. These figures are based on Hollyland laboratory testing and may vary in real-world use.

Camera Control and Proxy Recording

When used with a supported camera, the touchscreen can provide direct access to settings such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance, focus and focus mode. Proxy video can also be recorded to an SD card while monitoring, with timecode support helping to align proxy files with the camera footage during review and editing. Camera-control functions depend on the connected camera and installed firmware.

Practical Video Connections

In transmitter mode, the Pyro 5 accepts HDMI 1.4b and 3G-SDI video and provides an HDMI loop output. In receiver mode, it provides an HDMI 1.4b output. A 3.5 mm headphone connection, USB-C OTG support and an SD card slot provide additional monitoring, update, recording and media-management options.

RTMP Live Streaming

RTMP support enables live video delivery through the HollyView app when the Pyro 5 is connected to a suitable 4G LTE Wi-Fi modem. This provides a convenient route to compatible live-streaming platforms without requiring a separate streaming encoder for supported workflows.
