The Fanvil PN8 is an eight-port 2-wire PoE switch designed to help businesses modernise compatible communication networks while reusing existing two-core cabling. By carrying network connectivity and power over the same 2-wire connection, it can reduce the disruption, installation time and cabling costs associated with upgrading suitable hotels, offices, residential communities and older buildings.

Modernise Existing Cabling

The PN8 makes practical use of installed telephone, intercom and other suitable two-core cabling. Its eight RJ11 2-wire interfaces can provide network connectivity and power to compatible Fanvil 2-wire devices, while a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 uplink connects the switch to the wider network.

Designed for Retrofit Projects

With a supported network-and-power transmission distance of up to 300 metres using suitable cabling, the PN8 provides flexibility across larger buildings. Its plug-and-play operation and built-in power supply help simplify deployments where installing new Ethernet cabling would be difficult or disruptive.

Flexible 2-Wire Connectivity

The PN8 can connect directly to compatible Fanvil 2-wire telephones. A Fanvil PN1 converter may also be used at the remote end when a standard RJ45 network connection is required, subject to the requirements of the planned installation.

Important Compatibility Information

The PN8 is designed for compatible Fanvil 2-wire products. It does not connect directly to a conventional analogue telephone, and Fanvil does not recommend mixing its 2-wire equipment with products from other manufacturers. Cable type, condition and installation environment can affect the achievable transmission distance and performance.
