The Canon EOS RP brings full-frame photography and 4K video recording to a compact, approachable EOS R-series body. Its 26.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, DIGIC 8 processor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF system make it a practical choice for portraits, travel, landscapes and everyday creative work. Full-Frame Image Quality

The 35.9 × 24 mm full-frame CMOS sensor records approximately 26.2 effective megapixels, providing detailed images and greater control over depth of field. Canon’s DIGIC 8 processor supports responsive operation, in-camera image processing and a standard still-image sensitivity range of ISO 100–40,000, expandable to ISO 50–102,400.

Fast, Flexible Autofocus

Dual Pixel CMOS AF provides phase-detection autofocus across a broad area of the frame. Photographers can work with Face and Tracking AF, Eye AF, Spot AF, Zone AF and up to 4,779 selectable autofocus positions. Low-light focusing is supported down to -5 EV under Canon’s specified testing conditions.

Capture Different Perspectives

The 3-inch, approximately 1.04-million-dot vari-angle touchscreen can be positioned for low-angle, high-angle and front-facing compositions. Touch focus, touch shutter and menu control provide an intuitive way to adjust settings, while the 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder offers approximately 100% coverage.

4K and Full HD Video

Record 4K UHD video at up to 25p or Full HD video at up to 60p, with manual exposure options available when greater control is required. The camera also provides 4K time-lapse recording, external microphone and headphone connections, focus peaking and the ability to extract an approximately 8.3-megapixel JPEG frame from 4K footage.

Portable EOS R Design

At approximately 440 g for the body alone, the EOS RP offers full-frame capability in a relatively lightweight design. Its familiar EOS-style grip, magnesium-alloy structure and dust- and moisture-resistant construction make it well suited to photographers who want a portable interchangeable-lens system.

Connect, Control and Share

Built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow the camera to connect to compatible smart devices through the Canon Camera Connect app. Supported functions include remote shooting, image transfer and wireless sharing, helping photographers move images from the camera without first connecting it to a computer.

Lens Compatibility

The EOS RP uses Canon’s RF lens mount and accepts compatible RF lenses directly. Canon EF and EF-S lenses can be used with a separately sold Mount Adapter EF-EOS R, Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R or compatible Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter. When an EF-S lens is fitted, the camera applies a 1.6× crop. EF-M lenses are not compatible.

Important Body-Only Information

This is a camera body-only package and does not include a lens, memory card or EF-EOS R mount adapter. The EOS RP does not include a built-in flash or sensor-shift in-body image stabilisation; flash photography requires a compatible external Canon Speedlite, while optical stabilisation depends on the attached lens.
