Features

Omnidirectional Sound Capture

The BOYA BY-M1 features an omnidirectional pickup pattern that captures sound from all directions around the microphone. This provides flexible positioning when recording speech, making it suitable for interviews, tutorials, presentations and everyday content creation.

Clear Condenser Microphone Performance

The high-quality condenser capsule delivers detailed speech capture across a frequency response of 65Hz to 18kHz. With a 74dB signal-to-noise ratio, it provides a practical solution for recording spoken content with improved clarity compared with many built-in device microphones.

Versatile Device Compatibility

Designed for smartphones, DSLR cameras, camcorders, audio recorders and compatible computers, the BY-M1 offers flexible recording options. Its integrated mode switch allows users to select the appropriate operating mode for smartphones or camera equipment.

Selectable Camera and Smartphone Modes

The inline control module features dedicated camera and smartphone settings. The camera mode uses the included LR44 battery to power the microphone, while compatible smartphone connections can provide microphone power without using the battery.

Generous 6-Metre Cable

The extended 6m cable allows convenient positioning between the speaker and recording device. It provides additional freedom of movement during interviews, presentations, demonstrations and video shoots without requiring a wireless microphone system.

Discreet Clip-On Design

The compact microphone capsule can be attached to clothing using the included lapel clip. Its lightweight design helps minimise distraction while keeping the microphone close to the speaker for effective voice capture.

Foam Windscreen for Cleaner Audio

The included foam windscreen helps reduce unwanted breath sounds and minor airflow noise during recording. This makes it useful for spoken presentations, indoor interviews and controlled recording environments.

Convenient Battery Operation

The BY-M1 operates using one LR44 button battery when connected to devices that require microphone power from the inline module. The replaceable battery design supports practical use during extended recording sessions.

Ideal for Content Creation

Whether recording educational videos, conducting interviews, presenting tutorials or creating social media content, the BY-M1 provides an affordable and convenient microphone solution for improving recorded speech quality.

Portable Recording Accessory

The compact microphone and included carrying pouch make it convenient to transport and store. Its simple wired connection eliminates the need for wireless pairing, charging transmitters or managing radio-frequency connections.

• This is a wired microphone, not a wireless system.
• Camera mode requires the LR44 battery.
• Smartphone mode does not require battery power on compatible devices.
• USB-C and Lightning devices may require compatible microphone adapters.
• Some computers may require a compatible TRRS or headset adapter.
• Check device microphone input compatibility before purchase.
• Avoid excessive cable movement to minimise handling noise.
• Recording device is sold separately.
