The B860M Rock WiFi combines the Intel B860 chipset with an LGA1851 socket in a space-efficient Micro-ATX design. It supports Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2), including processor technologies such as Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0, Thermal Velocity Boost and Adaptive Boost Technology where supported by the installed processor.

A 5+1+1+1+1 power-phase design and digital PWM help provide controlled power delivery for the processor. The compact 24.4cm x 21.8cm board is suitable for compatible Micro-ATX cases while retaining practical storage, expansion and connectivity options.

DDR5 Memory and High-Speed M.2 Storage

Two DDR5 DIMM slots support up to 128GB of non-ECC, unbuffered memory in a dual-channel configuration. Compatible memory can run at speeds up to 8333+MHz when overclocked, with support for Intel XMP 3.0 profiles and Clocked Unbuffered DIMMs.

For high-speed storage, the board includes one Blazing M.2 socket supporting a PCIe Gen5 x4 Type 2280 NVMe SSD at up to 128Gb/s. A second Hyper M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4 socket provides up to 64Gb/s, while four SATA3 connectors accommodate additional SSDs and hard drives.

Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth and 2.5G LAN

For a wired connection, the Dragon RTL8125BG controller supports network speeds of 10, 100, 1,000 and 2,500Mb/s. Dragon LAN software also provides bandwidth monitoring and configurable priority controls for gaming, browsing and streaming traffic.

A compatible Wi-Fi 6E router is required for 6GHz connectivity. The 6GHz band requires Windows 11 and is subject to regional availability and regulations.

Modern Graphics and USB Connectivity

The reinforced PCIe 5.0 x16 slot provides additional anchoring for compatible graphics cards, while a PCIe 4.0 x1 slot is available for an additional expansion card. DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 outputs can be used when the installed processor includes compatible integrated graphics.

The rear panel includes a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C port with transfer speeds of up to 20Gb/s, three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Internal headers support further front-panel USB connections, including a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port on a compatible chassis.

Builder-Friendly Design

A pre-installed I/O shield helps simplify installation and provides a neat fit around the rear connectors. The primary M.2 position uses a quick-release latch for toolless SSD installation, while ASRock Auto Driver Installer can assist with downloading available drivers once the completed system is connected to the internet.

One standard RGB header and three addressable RGB headers allow compatible lighting devices to be connected and managed through ASRock Polychrome Sync. Dedicated CPU, chassis and AIO pump fan connectors provide flexible cooling options for a compatible build.
