The SA Filament ABS Premium SAF-ABSPREA13-BWN is a 1.75mm engineering-grade 3D printing filament designed for strong, durable and heat-resistant printed parts. Supplied on a 1kg spool in Brown, its ABS formulation is suitable for functional components, prototypes, housings and other applications requiring greater toughness and temperature resistance than standard PLA.

    Key Features:

    • Premium ABS 3D printing filament
    • 1.75mm filament diameter
    • 1kg net filament weight
    • Brown colour
    • High strength and impact resistance
    • Good heat resistance
    • Suitable for functional and mechanical parts
    • Consistent extrusion for reliable printing
    • Diameter tolerance of approximately ±0.05mm
    • Recommended nozzle temperature: 230 - 250°C
    • Recommended heated bed temperature: 80 - 110°C
    • Approx. 400m filament per roll
    • Vacuum sealed for moisture protection
    • Suitable for compatible FDM / FFF 3D printers

    Features

    Durable ABS Material

ABS is a strong engineering thermoplastic commonly used where toughness, impact resistance and heat tolerance are required. It is well suited to prototypes, enclosures, brackets and functional mechanical components.

    Consistent 1.75mm Diameter

SA Filament manufactures the filament to an accurate 1.75mm diameter with an approximate tolerance of ±0.05mm, helping maintain consistent material flow and minimise over- or under-extrusion during printing.

    Heat and Impact Resistance

Compared with standard PLA, ABS provides improved resistance to impact and elevated temperatures, making it better suited to functional parts that may experience mechanical stress or warmer operating conditions.

    Suitable for Post-Processing

ABS can be sanded, drilled and finished after printing. It is also compatible with appropriate acetone smoothing techniques, allowing printed parts to achieve a smoother surface when correctly processed.

    Optimised Printing Temperatures

Recommended printing temperatures are approximately 230 to 250°C with a heated build plate between 80 and 110°C. An enclosed printer is recommended to help maintain stable temperatures and reduce warping.

    • ABS printing is best performed in a well-ventilated area.
    • An enclosed printer is recommended for improved temperature stability and reduced warping.
    • Not recommended for open-frame printers that cannot maintain suitable ABS printing temperatures.
    • Actual settings may vary according to printer, nozzle, build surface and environmental conditions.
